Responding to the Coronavirus lockdown, the Asset TV team in South Africa collaborated with the Financial Planning Institute of South Africa (FPI) and leading investment managers, to create a regular ‘breakfast time’ event, where financial advisers and wealth managers can listen and question experts on camera – designed to improve knowledge and develop research at a challenging time.

The event, ‘In the Hot Seat’, a 30-minute live session, is accompanied by an online questionnaire and recognised by the FPI for ‘accredited CPD’.

In the first programme, Joanne Baynham interviewed one of South Africa’s top investment thinkers, Cy Jacobs. Cy is a co-founder and head of investment at 36ONE Asset Management.

Results:

• • Over 370 advisers registered to watch the first programme and qualify for accredited CPD.
• • An edited video from the live event was made available to a further 10,500 advisers, as a CPD supplement.
• • As a delegate group, they asked more than 20 questions, which were either answered live on air, or in a follow-up document to all delegates.
